About the Event
The term debridement often means different things to different health professionals. To the surgeon it means down to a bleeding base, to a wound nurse consultant it is removing as much non viable tissue without causing bleeding and to some nurses it just means using a sharp instrument. In this one day program we will discuss dressings that aid autolytic debridement, wound hygiene and the ethical issues behind your decision making before embarking on dissecting a pigs trotter to gain a greater understanding of anatomy within the wounds you may encounter that require some form of debridement.
